Delete Asset Folders
If you have folders that need to be removed from an asset, you can delete the folders. The folders and its contents will be soft deleted therefore can be viewed and restored if needed. This guide will include how to delete both single and multiple folders.
Note: Users require the ‘Wells/Locations Write’ or ‘Facilities/Pipelines Write’ permissions to delete asset folders.
Deleting Single Folders
Deleting a folder can be performed from the Folders View of the Asset Docs Grid.
Navigate to Assets & Asset Docs Grid
Navigate to the Assets Grid (Surface Location, Wells, Facilities, Pipeline Segments) by clicking the Assets dropdown menu at the top of the page. This will display all the Assets related modules/options. Then click any of the Asset Types to view its Assets Grid.

Then to view the uploaded documents navigate to the Asset Docs Grid for a particular asset by clicking the document link in the ‘Related To’ column or enter the asset and go to the ‘Asset, Well, Facility or Segment Docs’ tab.


Go to an asset and click Folders to display the documents in Folders View

Click the dropdown menu next to a folder

Click Delete Folder

Click Delete

Deleting Multiple Documents
Deleting a folder can be performed from the Folders View of the Asset Docs Grid.
Navigate to Assets & Asset Docs Grid
Navigate to the Assets Grid (Surface Location, Wells, Facilities, Pipeline Segments) by clicking the Assets dropdown menu at the top of the page. This will display all the Assets related modules/options. Then click any of the Asset Types to view its Assets Grid.

Then to view the uploaded documents navigate to the Asset Docs Grid for a particular asset by clicking the document link in the ‘Related To’ column or enter the asset and go to the ‘Asset, Well, Facility or Segment Docs’ tab.


From the Asset Docs Grid select the folders(s)

Click Modify > Delete

Click Delete

The folder(s) and its contents will be soft deleted. They will not be viewable in the Asset Docs Grid when using the default search filters. To view the deleted folders, select the Show Deleted Items option in the Folders/Files panel.
If needed, deleted folders and their contents can be viewed and restored. See Restore Asset Folders section for more details.
