Upload New Versions

If you have an updated version of an Asset document (Location, Wells, Facilities, Pipeline Segments) you can upload it as a new version into StackDX. This allows the ability to keep the history of the document all in one location.

There are multiple options to upload a new version when viewing the documents. This can be done from the Asset Docs Grid or in the 'History' tab when viewing a document. This guide will walk you through uploading new versions, viewing and downloading historical documents.

Note: Users require the ‘Wells/Locations Write’ or ‘Facilities/Pipelines Write’ permissions to upload asset documents.

Uploading via the Asset Docs Grid

  1. In the Asset Docs Grid (either Folders or Files View) click the dropdown menu next to the document

  1. Select Upload New Version

You will be directed to the 'History' tab.

  1. Either click Choose Files and browse to your document OR drag your document to the Or Drop file(s) here box

  1. Click Upload

Upload via the Document History tab

  1. In the Asset Docs Grid (either Folders or Files View) click on the File Name to view the document

  2. Click the 'History' tab

  1. Click Upload New Version

  1. Either click Choose Files and browse to your document OR drag your document to the Or Drop file(s) here box

  1. Click Upload

The updated document will then appear after refreshing the page. Once the document has been processed it will be assigned a category and the status will be Complete.

View Document History

The 'History' tab will display all the previous versions of the document. The previous versions can be downloaded or deleted.

The number count next to the History tab will indicate the number of previous versions for the document. The number of previous versions will also appear in the Asset Docs Grid with a tag next to File Name (ie. 1 Historical).

If the document exists in other folders when uploading a new version it will update all the duplicate copies of the document. If this is the case, it will display a message in the 'History' tab.

If the document is 'Marked As Reviewed' (green icon) when uploading a new version it will display a checkbox to either keep the document info for the new document or not. If the option is not selected when uploading the information may be different when the new document is processed.

If the document has been shared with others the external parties will see the current version of the document if accessed.
