Create Surface Locations

StackDX synchronizes nightly with your land management system (ie. CS Land, LandRite) and regulatory databases adding any updates to our system. In some cases you may need to upload documents to StackDX before the the Surface Location is present. For these situations, you can manually create the surface location in StackDX. Once the assets have been added to your land system or registered with the regulator, the next sync will automatically link any matching locations. This guide will show you how to create new surface locations in StackDX.

Navigate to Assets & Asset Docs Grid

Navigate to the Assets Grid (Surface Location, Wells, Facilities, Pipeline Segments) by clicking the Assets dropdown menu at the top of the page. This will display all the Assets related modules/options. Then click any of the Asset Types to view its Assets Grid.

Then to view the uploaded documents navigate to the Asset Docs Grid for a particular asset by clicking the document link in the ‘Related To’ column or enter the asset and go to the ‘Asset, Well, Facility or Segment Docs’ tab.

1. Click the dropdown menu in the top right corner of the Surface Location Grid page

1. Click Create New

2. Enter the Surface Location details and click Save

Summary of the details that can be provided when creating a new surface location:

1. Surface Location – Enter a valid Surface Location. *This field is required.

2. Note – Enter a note for the surface location. This will be displayed under the Surface Location on the Surface Location Grid. *This field is optional.
