Create Wells
StackDX synchronizes nightly with your land management system (ie. CS Land, LandRite) and regulatory databases to create and update well information. In some cases you may need to upload documents to StackDX before the well record is present. For these situations, you can manually create the well in StackDX. Once the well has been added to your land system or registered with the regulator, the next sync will automatically link any matching UWIs. This guide will show you how to create new wells in StackDX.
Note: Users require the ‘Wells & Locations Admin’ permissions to create new wells.
Create Well
Navigate to Assets & Asset Docs Grid
Navigate to the Assets Grid (Surface Location, Wells, Facilities, Pipeline Segments) by clicking the Assets dropdown menu at the top of the page. This will display all the Assets related modules/options. Then click any of the Asset Types to view its Assets Grid.

Then to view the uploaded documents navigate to the Asset Docs Grid for a particular asset by clicking the document link in the ‘Related To’ column or enter the asset and go to the ‘Asset, Well, Facility or Segment Docs’ tab.

Click Create New in the top right corner of the Wells Grid page

Select the type of well that you want to create: Licensed or Planned Well
Licensed Well: A well that already exists in the regulator data
Planned Well: A well that does NOT exist in the regulator/land system data but may be added in the future

Enter the well details and click Save
The well will be added to your StackDX site and display in the Wells Grid.
