Download Documents

If you need to download land documents to share with another party, you can do so in StackDX. You can download either single or multiple documents. This guide will show you how to download the documents.

Note: Users require the ‘Land Read’ permissions to download land documents.

Navigate to a land file that contains documents that you would like to download.

Downloading Single Document

Downloading a document can be performed from both the Land Docs Grid and when viewing the document by clicking the Download option for the document.

From Land Docs Grid

From Document View

The file will be immediately downloaded by your browser and placed in a folder (ie. Downloads Folder) for you to access.

Downloading Multiple Documents

Downloading multiple documents can be performed from the Land Docs Grid.

  1. From the Land Docs Grid select at least 2 documents

  1. Click Download Zip

  1. In the 'Export to Zip' dialog select a naming convention for the files and click Export.

There are two naming options for the exported file names – Original and Stack File Name.

Original File Naming: Will export the documents using the file name as displayed in StackDX (ie. FileName.pdf)

Stack File Naming: Will export the documents using a meaningful name that can help to easily identify specific exported documents. The file name will use the File Number, Category, Title and Doc Date as they are in StackDX (ie. File Number-Category-Title-Doc Date.pdf).

The files will be exported to a ZIP file and will be available for download in the Job Manager option in the top right corner of StackDX site. A panel will display with all the jobs being performed.

Tip: The Job Manager will display a green icon when the job (ie. Export) has been completed.

Click on the File/Link and the ZIP file will be immediately downloaded by your browser and placed in a folder (ie. Downloads Folder) for you to access.

Below are examples using both Original and Stack File Naming conventions.

Note: When using the Stack File Naming there is potential for different files to have the same file name based on their information (ie. File Number, Category, Title, Doc Date). If this is the case, the exported files will be named with a suffix. The suffix will be their specific Document Path ID (ie. 1232035). See below example:

Export Document List to Excel

Alternatively, there is an option to export a list of the documents in a particular land file. The export will contain all the metadata information for the documents and allow you to easily filter and access them directly from Excel with a link to the document to view in StackDX.

Click the Export to Excel option located above the Land Docs Grid to export the list of documents.

The files will be exported to a .xlsx file and will be available for download in the Job Manager option in the top right corner of StackDX site. A panel will display with all the jobs being performed.

Tip: The Job Manager will display a green icon when the job (ie. Export) has been completed.

Click on the File/Link and the .xlsx file will be immediately downloaded by your browser and placed in a folder (ie. Downloads Folder) for you to access.
